“We ought to know that by the situation that faces us today, we are faced not by a choice but by a challenge to our faith in God. If it were to be a matter of choice, we could have resolved them by choosing not to pray at all and adopting alternative human strategies, if there were any at all. The situation we face as Christians does not offer us any alternative apart from faith in God. Looking or searching for an alternative, if there is any at all, is a way of postponing the evil day because we would still have to face the same situation we had tried to escape from, someday.
Remember, alternatives have their own habit of disappointing one. Some do seek alternatives, however and seem to get what they want. But remember what Jesus said to His disciples, “My peace I give to you, not as the world gives…” (John 14:27). In other words, ‘My wealth I give to you, not as the world gives’. When God gives you something, there are no strings or conditions attached. The Bible says, in God Almighty, you would have peace but in the world you would have trouble. But Jesus encourages us to cheer up for He has overcome for us (John 16:33).” – T.B. Joshua
