The purpose of life is to glorify God in good times and hard times alike. We should acknowledge God in both hard times and good times, for He gives and He takes at will. It is not our own hard work or skill that enriches us; it is by God’s blessing. There is no room for any man’s boasting of his ability or power. This explains why people like me who are without fast legs, smoothness of tongue, ability to inspire people and great strength to deploy should ever remain grateful to God for the purpose He has designed me. The same that gives also takes away. We must adore God at all times and fall down to worship Him. Hard times must not stop us but encourage us to exercise our faith as a Christian.
Weeping must not hinder sowing or worshipping. Hard times should encourage us to pray the more. We must eye not only the hand of God but also the name of God in our difficulty. This is to say to know God is not only to see His work but also to learn His way. The Bible says, “Seek first the kingdom and all other things will be added”, but today people seek all other things first and expect the kingdom to follow. Remember, the devil wants you to curse God while under pain, trial, temptation and affliction. That is why the devil takes delight in inflicting pain on people. But those who bless God in trouble, pain, affliction prove their sonship. We must find room in our heart to bless God when even when He takes away.
